Danny Cepok

Danny is the founder of Agile Polymath.  His mission is simple - helping to build workplaces that people love being part of and in doing so, give their best to ensure business success.

Danny has over 20 years senior leadership and management experience within a varied career. This has included being a Senior Manager in the public sector with responsibility for hundreds of employees with £multi-million budgets.

Danny started off his working life as a bus driver after attending University for a period of time, deciding it wasn’t for him at that point in his life. He became involved in the world of politics as an elected Councillor and was a Business Manager for an MP and an MEP. He eventually went back to formal learning, achieving an MSc, various other qualifications including Professional Scrum Master1, and learning Python (which he found he had a bit of a talent for).

In 2005 whilst working full time Danny started his own side hustle called DC Coaching after he studied for and obtained an Advanced Diploma in Coaching, and he is currently a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council.  Over time he has coached and mentored dozens of people from industries as diverse as civil aviation, procurement, financial services, health, human resources, the police, construction, local government, and IT in both the private and public sectors. His clients have included senior managers and directors, and he has also designed and delivered many bespoke courses for employee groups and young people. His personal coaching clients have ranged from ages 17 to 70.

Danny is also an Associate Consultant with the Universal Improvement Company. They are an organisational improvement specialist providing consultancy, facilitation and training in strategy development and implementation, project management, process improvement, teamworking, leadership and data.  The UIC is firmly rooted in the principles of the improvement giants - Dr W Edwards Deming, Walter Shewhart, Joseph Juran, and Myron Tribus.  Danny has worked with a range of UIC clients in both the UK and Australia.

Having achieved PRINCE2 accreditation, obtaining his Professional Scrum Master 1 qualification and then studying Agile, Danny was doing more consultancy and strategy work with coaching being an integral part.  This led him to rebrand and relaunch the business to become Agile Polymath, so called because he believes that in today's society we are all polymaths having to continually develop a spectrum of skills in a fast changing world.  And for organisations to adapt, they must have leaders that can do the same.

In his spare time Danny volunteers with a growing social enterprise having played an integral part in its start-up, keeps healthy by running (a lot), meditating, doing a bit of Yoga, and is writing a book (word count currently 128,000).  He also plays piano, playing mainly the right notes and not always in the right order, and loves to cook.  He lives with his wife Helen (a senior HR professional with a global Fin Tech company), and they have two grown-up children (Shaun working in Australia, and Kasha studying Physics at Uni), and a cat called Larry (because he is always happy).
